Library Director
Dalia Corkrum has served as the library director for Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA since 2005.  Over the last thirteen years she has lead the library’s transition into the digital age, including developing an institutional repository, building campus awareness of copyright issues and promoting open access publishing. Service to the profession has been a career-long value, witnessed by extensive leadership positions within the American Library Association, the Association for College & Research Libraries, the Library Leadership & Management Association, the Oberlin Group of Libraries and Lever Press.  Recently she served as Chair of the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a 37 member academic library consortium in the Pacific Northwest.  Currently she is a delegate representing the Americas to OCLC.  Her extensive experience with OCLC and regional academic libraries has contributed to her passionate commitment to global library collaboration in service of higher education. She speaks frequently about the future of academic libraries and teaches about the applications of copyright law for students, faculty and staff.  Dalia holds a bachelor’s degree in art history from the University of Washington and an M.S. in Library Science from Drexel University.
